I arrived to the UK almost 9 years ago with a heart full of big plans, excitement and apprehension having never being here before. I had only seen London in the movies and travel guides. I knew about the Royal Family, the red buses, and fish&chips… I remember landing at Luton airport, sitting in the shuttle to London passing through different areas of the city and suddenly realizing it is all real! The pubs were real, the fish&chips were real, Hyde Park was real, and I was finally here, in this beautiful city looking forward to accomplishing my dreams.

I slowly got used to the local accent (living in Denver previously, my ears were not attuned). I learned how the underground system worked and how to navigate around London (getting lost a few times), the farmers’ markets, the people always rushing and the pubs playing an important part of people’s social life.

Two years down the track and I suddenly realized how lonely this big city can be at times. I remember not looking forward to the weekends and thinking about moving back to Budapest…

At the same time, giving up was not an option I was going to entertain. I came here with plans to establish a better life, improve my professional experience, and enhance my English. I had some darker days and of course some wonderfully bright ones too. I had to remind myself daily why I came here, set a positive mindset, and shape my future. I started visiting the gym, attended local activity groups, and signed up for different courses, … I started to feel better and better and began enjoying this big city.

I realized that if you do not want to be lonely in the capital, you must motivate yourself and find the right places to meet people. They are out there for everyone.

During this time (as it was in my dream) my goal of developing my professional career was achieved and I became a people’s person, a leader of a team and acknowledged as someone that inspired others.

And then it struck me, I realized how important it is to understand each person’s strengths within a team, to align and motivate the person and to raise their self-awareness and earn everyone’s trust.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to drive, learn and evolve into a professional life coach and habit practitioner. Not only I am able to help my clients, but I am also in a trajectory of self-growth and self-development to always strive to become a better version of me.

I certified as a life coach in 2019 and enjoy every time I start a new client’s journey. I know from experience that GOALs and DREAMs are achievable! 🙂
