DISC Profiling

What is DISC Profiling?

DISC profiling is a behavioural assessment tool used to analyse and understand human behaviour within a specific context, such as the
workplace. It provides insights into an individual’s behavioural style, communication preferences, and work tendencies. The DISC model categorizes behaviour into four main dimensions:

Dominance (D):

People with a dominant style tend to be assertive, direct, and results-oriented. They are often driven, decisive, and prefer taking charge of situations.

Influence (I):

Individuals with an influential style are outgoing, sociable, and persuasive. They excel in building relationships, motivating others, and are often enthusiastic and optimistic.

Steadiness (S):

People with a steady style are calm, patient, and cooperative. They value stability, harmonious environments, and have a preference for routine and consistency.

Conscientiousness (C):

Individuals with a conscientious style are analytical, detail-oriented, and focused on accuracy. They prioritize quality, structure, and systematic approaches to tasks.

DISC profiling assessments typically involve a questionnaire or survey where individuals respond to statements or scenarios to indicate their behavioural tendencies. The results generate a personalized profile that highlights the individual’s dominant and secondary behavioural styles.

The purpose of DISC profiling is to increase self-awareness, improve communication, and enhance interpersonal relationships. By understanding one’s own behavioural style and recognizing the styles of others, individuals can adapt their communication and work approaches to collaborate more effectively, reduce conflict, and foster better teamwork. It is commonly used in team building, leadership development, conflict resolution, and personal
growth initiative.
